The best jobs I ever held in marketing literally went: send resume and cover letter, one talent acquisition conversation, one hiring manager interview and, in one case, a short one-hour presentation with no more than 3 PPT slides to that manager. Candidate process of no more than 2 to 3 weeks between application and offer acceptance.

Having any more than that number of stakeholders and time devoted to hiring suggests lack of confidence in the hiring manager's capability for optimal employee selection. That sets the candidate as an employee up for failure before she or he is even hired.
